Tesco Assures Shoppers: No Food Shortages Amid Iran War Concerns

Tesco, the largest food retailer in Britain, has announced that there are currently no issues with food availability. This comes after reports hinted at potential shortages of chicken, pork, and other groceries in UK supermarkets this summer due to the ongoing conflict in Iran.

Tesco CEO Ken Murphy expressed confidence, stating, "None of our suppliers have flagged any issues to us at this point. I think that's an important point," during a conversation with reporters on Thursday.

The Times reported that government analysis suggests the Iran war could potentially lead to shortages as a consequence of CO2 gas scarcity, a critical component in the food industry. Business minister Peter Kyle refrained from commenting on leaked documents but assured consumers that the government is preparing for various scenarios.
