Tragic Blast at Sakti Power Plant Claims 20 Lives, Sparks High-Level Inquiry

A catastrophic explosion at the Sakti Power Plant in Chhattisgarh has claimed 20 lives and left 16 individuals injured, according to Superintendent of Police Praful Thakur. In response to the tragedy, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has initiated a high-level investigation, pledging stringent action against those responsible.
Chief Minister Sai announced compensation measures, including Rs 5 lakh and Rs 50,000 for the bereaved families and injured, respectively. Prime Minister Narendra Modi matched this with Rs 2 lakh for families and Rs 50,000 for the injured from the PM National Relief Fund. The power plant company further offered Rs 35 lakh and a government job to each bereaved family.
President Droupadi Murmu expressed her profound sorrow over the incident, offering condolences to the families affected. In a post on social platform X, she prayed for the injured's swift recovery. Prime Minister Modi echoed these sentiments, sharing his grief and detailing the financial assistance provided to those impacted by the blast.
