In a significant move against vehicle theft across the capital, Delhi Police announced on Monday the arrest of two well-known auto-lifters, leading to the recovery of 18 stolen two-wheelers and several illegal firearms. The crackdown was part of a coordinated effort by law enforcement in the Rohini district.

The operation, supervised by ACP Ramphool Meena in Prashant Vihar, saw the apprehension of the suspects by separate special teams. In the first operation, led by Inspector Sandeep Godara at PS Budh Vihar, Bittu, a notorious figure with a record of 13 prior cases, was caught in Sector-24, Rohini. His confession unraveled the theft of 10 bikes, successfully solving 10 motor vehicle theft cases.

In another swift action on April 3, 2026, an intelligence-driven team from PS KNK Marg, under Inspector Pramod Anand, arrested Neerav while riding a stolen scooty. Already a history-sheeter with about 45 cases, Neerav's arrest led to the discovery of further stolen goods, including eight more two-wheelers and a cache of illegal items.
