In a significant legal intervention, the Supreme Court has tasked the Madhya Pradesh High Court with handling objections related to videography conducted by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) at the contested Bhojshala-Kamal Maula Mosque location in Dhar district.
The site holds religious significance for both Hindus and Muslims, having roots in an 11th-century temple dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, and later in 1514, becoming the location of the Kamal Maula Mosque. These historical claims have been supported by recent findings.
Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, leading the Supreme Court bench, underlined that objections raised over the videography will be addressed in accordance with the principles of natural justice, ensuring a fair trial. The High Court is anticipated to complete its hearing by April 2, informed by the findings from a comprehensive ASI report.
