At 0713 GMT, the pan-European STOXX 600 index had climbed 2.4% to 596.76 points, with all major sectors in positive territory except energy. Germany's DAX led the charge, rising by 2.7%.
Travel stocks, sensitive to oil prices, spiked 4.2% and drove sector gains, while heavyweight banks rose by 3.9%. Trump's suggestion that the war on Iran might soon conclude bolstered investor sentiment. As a result, Brent crude futures fell over 5%, settling below $100 a barrel, while the STOXX energy index dipped by 0.7%.
