The Delhi High Court has intervened to halt proceedings in a notable assault case involving Bina Modi and Lalit Bhasin. The summons, initially issued by a Saket court in February after Samir Modi's allegations, are being contested by the accused.
Justice Saurabh Banerjee has taken steps to seek feedback from the Delhi police as well as Samir Modi, while also issuing a temporary pause on trial court actions. This case is scheduled for deliberation in July, attracting considerable legal attention.
Senior advocates Mukul Rohtagi and Rajiv Nayar are actively representing the defendants, arguing against the baselessness of the summoning order, especially in light of contradicting evidence, such as CCTV footage, that questions the credibility of Samir Modi's claims.
