Chandrababu Naidu Launches 'Divyang Shakti' for Empowering Differently-Abled
'Divyang Shakti', launched by Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu, offers free bus travel for people with disabilities. Aimed at promoting social equity and mobility, the scheme benefits over 12.76 lakh individuals, marking a significant stride in state-led initiatives for the differently-abled in India.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu unveiled the 'Divyang Shakti' scheme, promising free bus travel for the differently-abled. This initiative is aimed at boosting social equity, mobility, and dignity, aligning with the Ugadi festival's spirit.
Naidu launched the scheme in Amaravati, then traveled with beneficiaries from Mangalagiri to Penumaka, demonstrating solidarity. The scheme is expected to assist approximately 12.76 lakh individuals, including 11.16 lakh persons with disabilities. It offers free APSRTC bus travel and a 50 percent fare concession for attendants.
This program, covering 21 disability categories, comes with a government investment of Rs 207 crore. In a coordinated move, MLAs across Andhra Pradesh introduced the scheme in their constituencies, emphasizing community involvement.
