Drone Attack Halts UAE's Shah Gas Field Operations
Operations at the UAE's Shah gas field are suspended following a drone attack, with damage currently under assessment. Authorities have contained the fire without any reported injuries. The UAE's oil output has dropped significantly, and operations at the key port of Fujairah were disrupted by multiple attacks.
The United Arab Emirates' Shah gas field operations have been halted due to damage from a drone attack, as confirmed by Abu Dhabi's media office on Monday. Efforts are underway to assess the damage following the incident.
Authorities successfully contained the fire caused by the drone attack, with no injuries reported. The Shah gas field, located 180 kilometers southwest of Abu Dhabi, is among the largest globally in its class.
In the wake of the attack, the UAE's oil output has dropped by more than half because of the Iran conflict and the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz. This forced state oil company ADNOC to reduce production significantly, while operations at the port of Fujairah, a critical export terminal, were temporarily suspended but have now partially resumed.
