Kansai's Strategic Entry in India's Renewable Energy Market
Kansai Transmission and Distribution has entered the Indian energy market by acquiring a 10% stake in OMC Power. Kansai Transmission and Distribution has made a significant move into the Indian energy sector by purchasing a 10% stake in OMC Power. This investment is the first by Kansai in India's energy market, marking a strategic expansion in the renewable energy space.
OMC Power, aiming to establish a 1 GW renewable energy portfolio, benefits from Kansai's investment of Rs 160 crore. The funds are set to bolster the development of next-generation grid infrastructures, including smart technologies and digital monitoring systems.
OMC Power CEO Rohit Chandra emphasized the collaboration's potential for innovation and growth. Kansai, part of the Kansai Electric Power group, will support OMC Power's vision of delivering inclusive, sustainable energy solutions across India.
