Amidst escalating tensions in West Asia, the government has moved swiftly to allocate 40,000 kilolitres of additional kerosene to states. This decision comes as a strategy to mitigate the ongoing LPG supply challenges, providing consumers with an alternative fuel option.
Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, reassured the public that the country's crude oil supply chain remains robust, stating that all petrol pumps continue to operate without disruptions. This announcement aims to ease public fears amid international upheavals.
The crisis intensified on February 28 when a combined military strike by the US and Israel on Iran resulted in the demise of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's 86-year-old Supreme Leader, further complicating geopolitical dynamics in the region.
