German warship builder TKMS, in partnership with Norway, has placed a significant bid for a multi-billion-dollar submarine contract with Canada, according to a company spokesperson.
The extensive offer consists of approximately 1,500 pages and has received backing from the governments of both Germany and Norway.
TKMS is currently one of two contenders shortlisted by Canada to provide up to twelve modern submarines, with South Korea's Hanwha Ocean as its main competitor. A final decision is expected by mid-year.
