Punjab Minister Aman Arora has praised the launch of what is being called the world's biggest cash transfer scheme aimed at empowering women, as announced by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The timing of the announcement coincided with International Women's Day celebrations.
In line with the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) vision led by Arvind Kejriwal, the 'Mukh Mantri Mavan Dhiyan da Satkar Scheme' ensures monthly transfers of Rs 1,000 to women in the General category and Rs 1,500 for those in the Scheduled Castes, establishing a robust support system addressing financial needs.
The cash transfer is part of a broader fiscal agenda unveiled in the 2026-27 state budget, which was described as an 'affidavit of progress' by Mann.
