Mukul Wasnik Slams ECI, Champions Congress-DMK Alliance

In a recent press briefing held in Chennai, Congress General Secretary Mukul Wasnik characterized the alliance in Tamil Nadu as 'formidable,' while criticizing the Election Commission of India for not carrying out its duties impartially. Wasnik suggested that the ECI's actions have indicated a bias toward the central ruling party, a view shared by multiple opposition parties.

As he elaborated on the strategy for the upcoming elections, Wasnik stated, 'It is a formidable alliance. We will contest a limited number of seats, but fully support our allies elsewhere, acting as if Congress candidates were contesting those constituencies.' He remained optimistic about gaining the trust of Tamil Nadu's voters, dismissing chances for emerging parties like TVK and Vijay, as well as the BJP.

Addressing questions on the impending visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior BJP leader Amit Shah to Tamil Nadu, Wasnik said, 'Our leadership has consistently led campaigns in Tamil Nadu. Despite the BJP's efforts, the people of Tamil Nadu will not align with their path.' Meanwhile, preparations are underway for the DMK's 12th State Conference and an NDA public meeting in Trichy, featuring an address by PM Modi.
