Overnight Drone Assault Sparks Blaze at Novorossiysk Port
A massive Ukrainian drone attack on Russia's Black Sea port city of Novorossiysk resulted in injuries and damage. Ukrainian forces targeted oil facilities and military assets, while Russia reported downing numerous drones. Local authorities confirmed the attack and ensuing fire, which was later extinguished.
On Monday, Russia reported a severe overnight attack on the Black Sea port city of Novorossiysk, suspected to have been carried out by Ukrainian drones. Reports indicate five people were injured and approximately 20 buildings damaged, while a fire was put out at a fuel terminal.
An official from Ukraine's SBU security service claimed the drones targeted the Sheskharis oil terminal, striking major loading facilities and impacting Russian naval assets. However, Russia's Defence Ministry focused on the downing of 172 drones, with no acknowledgment of military damage.
Local sources confirmed the assault, noting damage to residential and public structures. This follows previous Ukrainian attacks, including on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal. Despite tensions, Kazakhstan's energy production remains unaffected.
