The air quality in Delhi remains a pressing concern as the city's Air Quality Index (AQI) stayed in the 'poor' category on Monday, with a reading of 214 recorded at 7 am. This reflects a slight improvement from Sunday's AQI of 221, as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Regionally, Anand Vihar recorded the highest AQI at 293, with Bawana at 259, Jahangirpuri at 285, and Wazirpur at 268. In contrast, central areas like India Gate had better air quality, with AQI readings of 156, categorized as 'moderate'.

The opposition Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) questioned the potential manipulation of data by the BJP-led government, accusing it of installing new AQI monitors in green areas to falsely depict improvement in air quality. This move, according to AAP, detracts from meaningful anti-pollution measures.
