In a significant development for Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has announced the restoration of the historic 'Darbar Move' tradition. The Chief Minister expressed optimism that this revival would serve as a substantial economic boost for the Union Territory.

Abdullah pointed out that the discontinuation of the Darbar Move had been a major setback for Jammu, breaking the promise made to the public. He emphasized that the tradition interlinks Srinagar and Jammu, and its suspension had adversely affected unity within the region.

The restoration of the Darbar Move was also welcomed by National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah, who affirmed that attempts to divide Jammu and Srinagar had been thwarted. The ceremony in Jammu witnessed Chief Minister Abdullah receiving a warm welcome alongside heightened security measures.
