Uttar Pradesh Sets New MSP for Paddy Amidst Major Procurement Push

The Uttar Pradesh government announced that paddy procurement from eastern districts would begin on November 1, lasting until February 28, 2026. The minimum support price (MSP) has been set at Rs 2,369 per quintal for common paddy and Rs 2,389 for Grade A paddy.

The government reported that over 2.17 lakh farmers have registered to sell their crops, encouraged by the policies of the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This initiative covers multiple districts including Chitrakoot, Kanpur, and Prayagraj, boosting the local agricultural economy.

The initiative is supported by 3,920 purchase centers established across the state. Farmers are to receive payments within 48 hours following sale, and registration is mandatory via the state's official platforms.
