Power utility CESC Ltd announced on Tuesday that Purvah Green Power Pvt Ltd, its subsidiary, secured a Letter of Award from Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI) for a substantial 300 MW solar power project paired with an energy storage system.
According to the company’s regulatory filing, the award was confirmed on October 27, with Purvah acknowledging and accepting it. This project is part of SECI's broader initiative to develop 2,000 MW of ISTS-connected solar PV systems integrated with 1,000 MW/4,000 MWh energy storage across India.
Awarded under the Ministry of Power’s guidelines issued in June 2023, the contract spans 25 years at a tariff of Rs 2.86 per kWh. Based in Kolkata, the project emphasizes domestic development and is not classified as a related-party transaction.
