The Indian Air Force will host the Sekhon IAF Marathon 2025 on November 2, aiming to merge fitness, patriotism, and national pride. The event, announced by the Ministry of Defence, will start at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi, and occur at 60 Air Force stations nationwide.

A tribute to Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, a Param Vir Chakra recipient for his valor in the 1971 Indo-Pak war, the marathon embodies courage, discipline, and unity. Themed "Run with Pride, Soar with Spirit," it is both a sporting event and a celebration of air warriors' indomitable spirit, fostering a culture of fitness.

The marathon offers Half Marathon, 10 km, and 5 km categories, welcoming seasoned athletes and amateurs. Starting at 5:30 AM, 6:00 AM, and 6:30 AM, the races encourage broad participation, emphasizing athletic excellence and community involvement. Supported by IOCL, IDFC First Bank, HAL, and BEL, the event underscores the IAF's dedication to national unity.

Acting as a bridge between civilians and military personnel, SIM-25 anticipates over 93,000 participants, aligning with the Fit India Movement to promote national wellness. The Air Force Sports Control Board oversees the event, ensuring safety and smooth execution with volunteer and medical support.

As a testament to teamwork and community spirit, the Sekhon IAF Marathon 2025 invites participation from all, honoring Flying Officer Sekhon’s heroic legacy and fostering a shared sense of pride among citizens and Air Force personnel.
