President Volodymyr Zelenskiy affirmed on Tuesday that Ukraine has secured funding for 70% of its needed natural gas imports for the upcoming winter. The Ukrainian government plans to cover the remaining costs, aiming to reassure citizens amidst intensified Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.

Unseasonably warm weather has allowed Kyiv to postpone the activation of central heating systems in urban areas, significantly conserving gas resources. Zelenskiy confirmed that the 'heating season' will commence nearly two weeks later than customary, starting on October 28.

Russian assaults have severely impacted Ukraine's domestic gas production, necessitating additional imports estimated at 4 billion cubic meters. Despite the setbacks, Ukraine continues to expand repair crews, while Germany and Italy have pledged support in securing electricity generation equipment.
