Uttar Pradesh's Paddy Procurement Drive Gains Momentum with Farmer Registrations Soaring
In Uttar Pradesh, over 1.37 lakh farmers have registered for the 2025-26 paddy procurement season, which started in September. The state has targeted the operation of 4,000 centres, of which 3,790 are active. Payments are directly transacted into farmers' Aadhaar-linked accounts within 48 hours of procurement.

An official statement revealed that more than 1.37 lakh farmers have registered for paddy procurement in Uttar Pradesh till Thursday. The farmer registration for the 2025-26 season commenced on September 1, and by October 23, over 1,37,166 farmers had enrolled.
The Uttar Pradesh government aims to operate 4,000 procurement centers, with 3,790 currently functional. Since October 1, over 35,630 metric tonnes have been purchased. The registration is conducted via an OTP-based system on the UP KISAN MITRA app and online.
Procurement operations started in seven divisions on October 1, including Meerut and Saharanpur, and will expand to eastern regions from November 1. With a target to procure 60 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, the government assures payments to farmers' accounts within 48 hours of transactions.
