Tamil Nadu's government, under the leadership of Chief Minister M K Stalin and Agriculture Minister M R K Panneerselvam, is successfully procuring 1,000 bags of paddy daily from farmers, surpassing previous figures set by the AIADMK regime. The increase aligns with high production levels due to favorable rainfall.

Under the stewardship of Chief Minister M K Stalin, Tamil Nadu is intensifying paddy procurement efforts, Agriculture Minister M R K Panneerselvam announced. The state procures 1,000 bags daily, improving upon the 600 bags per day rationed during the AIADMK tenure.
Panneerselvam rebuffed accusations by the Opposition's Edappadi K Palaniswami, who claimed inefficiency in procurement. Contrarily, Paddy production has flourished this year, attributable to copious rainfall across delta districts, with impressive procurement figures of up to 1.6 lakh metric tonnes.
To prevent wastage, the government has mandated secure storage solutions, including using sugar mill godowns. Additionally, initiatives like releasing water from the Mettur Dam and providing electricity connections have further bolstered agricultural productivity.
