In a heart-wrenching tragedy unfolding in Uttarakhand's Pauri district, a man reportedly killed his three-month-old son before ending his own life. The incident, confirmed by police on Thursday, emerged amid a backdrop of alcohol addiction and domestic turmoil.

According to local law enforcement, the deceased, Lalit, age 30, was a native of Nepal living in Daboli village. A heated dispute erupted between Lalit and his wife, Kamala, prompting her to leave with their infant son. In a fit of anger, Lalit seized the baby and threw him into a nearby gorge.

Desperation engulfed the couple as they searched in vain for their child. Such despair led Lalit to leap into the gorge himself. Villagers rescued him but unfortunately, he was declared dead at a local health center. The incident underscores the severe impact of addiction and emotional distress on families.
