Vijay Faces Criticism for Handling of Karur Stampede Tragedy

Actor-politician Vijay is set to meet the families of the Karur stampede victims in Mahabalipuram on October 27, a month after the tragic incident claimed 41 lives and injured over 60. It has been arranged by his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam party at a resort, where he aims to personally convey his condolences.

The decision has sparked debate on social media, where critics question why Vijay is summoning the grieving families to Mahabalipuram rather than visiting them in Karur. The party stated that the logistics arose from an inability to secure permissions for Vijay to travel to Karur directly.

Some affected individuals have expressed their dissatisfaction, arguing that it is inappropriate for them to visit the leader. Currently, the injured victims are not expected to be part of the meeting.
