Tesla Recalls: Cybertruck Lights and Model 3/Y Battery Pack Defects

Tesla announced on Thursday a recall of 63,619 Cybertruck vehicles to address software-related issues causing the front parking lights to shine too brightly, potentially hampering the vision of oncoming drivers.

The company assured that an over-the-air software update has been issued to correct the problem for Cybertrucks manufactured between November 13, 2023, and October 11, 2025, at no cost. The defect was identified during a recent internal review.

Additionally, Tesla recalled 12,963 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles due to a battery-pack component defect, which poses a risk of loss of propulsion and increased chance of collision. Meanwhile, an investigation by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration into Tesla's Full Self-Driving system involves 2.88 million vehicles across several issues. Despite recording impressive third-quarter sales, Tesla's profits fell short of analysts' forecasts due to tariff expenses and reduced income from regulatory credits.
