In a significant development, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh revealed on Wednesday that India's domestic defence production has surged to Rs 1.5 lakh crore. This substantial figure includes a Rs 33,000 crore contribution from the private sector, underscoring a decade-long transformation from the Rs 46,000 crore mark.
Singh, speaking at the launch of 'Civil-Military Fusion as a Metric of National Power & Comprehensive Security,' emphasized the increasing hybrid nature of modern warfare. He credited the Modi administration with bold reforms geared towards crafting a future-ready military, crucial for national security and strategic autonomy.
Highlighting 'Operation Sindoor,' Singh noted the potent integration of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. He argued that civil-military fusion must transcend integration to act as a strategic enabler for innovation and technologic self-reliance, aligning civil and military sectors with a unified national purpose.
