In a significant breakthrough, Delhi Police have apprehended three juveniles implicated in a violent attack case tied to escalating gang tensions in Patel Nagar. The incident, which unfolded on October 10, involved rival gang members clashing, resulting in severe knife-inflicted injuries on a victim, police officials disclosed.
The altercation was first reported to the Patel Nagar Police Station when authorities were alerted to an assault at Sharda Electrical, Baljeet Nagar. Upon reaching the scene, investigators discovered a chaotic fight among a group of boys, during which one individual was viciously attacked and later deemed unfit to provide a statement by hospital officials. Consequently, an FIR was lodged under sections 109(1)/3(5) BNS, sparking a comprehensive investigation.
Intensified probe efforts saw the police team meticulously gather and scrutinize CCTV footage and engage local informants to gather intelligence on the suspects. During the investigation, key insights from the footage led to the identification of a suspect, crucially aiding in identifying and apprehending the primary accused near Prem Nagar on October 11. Further interrogation revealed deeper gang affiliations, with the Bhagat Singh Gang and the rival Sarkar Group vying for territorial control. Police are continuing their operation to unravel the full extent of the criminal network involved.
