Arunachal Pradesh Boosts Handicraft Sector with Strategic MoU

In a significant move to uplift its textile and handicraft sector, the Arunachal Pradesh government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH). The collaboration seeks to enrich skill development and push product diversification in alignment with global trends.
The agreement, penned by Department of Textiles and Handicrafts commissioner Mimum Tayeng and EPCH executive director Rajesh Rawat, was witnessed by state minister Nyato Dukuma among other officials. It focuses on enabling artisans to partake in both national and international trade fairs, aiming for sustainable livelihood by improving market linkages.
Expressing optimism, Dukuma highlighted the potential for empowering local artisans on a global scale. Concurrently, EPCH-NER regional convenor Jesmina Zeliang emphasized the crucial need for fortified market connectivity to enhance the competitiveness of Arunachal's crafts.
