A fire broke out on Wednesday evening in an aged civic office building located in Thane district, Maharashtra, according to authorities. The incident, which occurred at the ward committee office in Mumbra's Sahyog Apartment, was reported at 6:53 PM.
Fire personnel quickly responded, bringing the blaze under control by approximately 9 PM. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the flame gutted crucial records, furniture, and fixtures inside the office.
Disaster management cell chief, Yasin Tadvi, stated that it remains unclear what caused the fire. Meanwhile, officials are set to verify if the structure was among those listed as dangerous and in need of action.
