Foreign diplomats gathered in New Delhi on Wednesday to participate in a tree plantation drive organized by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) at Nehru Park. The event was part of the ongoing 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, celebrated on Earth Day, and was aimed at promoting environmental awareness and cooperation among nations.

NDMC Vice Chairperson Kuljeet Singh Chahal highlighted the campaign's alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of environmental protection through communal participation. Chahal urged participants to plant a tree in honor of their mothers, emphasizing the emotional and social responsibility this campaign represents in nurturing future generations.

The initiative saw active participation from embassies and high commissions from countries such as Poland, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia. Foreign dignitaries praised the effort, noting that it not only contributes to environmental conservation but also fosters mutual understanding and diplomatic relations. Regular plantation drives aim to transform this initiative into a mass movement.
