Actor and MNM chief Kamal Haasan delivered a sharp critique against fellow actor-politician Vijay while campaigning for DMK candidate Inigo S Irudayaraj in Tiruchirapalli. Emphasizing his own childhood connections with cinematic legends M G Ramachandran and Shivaji Ganesan, Haasan claimed he never used his relationships for political gain, drawing a clear contrast with Vijay's political theatrics.

Haasan, leading a rally through the constituency, called on voters to support the 'Rising Sun'—DMK’s political symbol.
