Reviving Sanskrit: A Quantum Leap Towards Cultural Heritage

BJP veteran Murli Manohar Joshi has vocalized a robust call for the renewed promotion of Sanskrit, highlighting its pivotal role even in the realm of quantum computing. Speaking to reporters, Joshi challenged the notion of India as a 'vishwaguru' or global teacher, suggesting that the term is no longer apt in today's context. Instead, he urged a future-oriented approach toward reclaiming this esteemed status.

At the event marking the inauguration of the central office of Sanskrit Bharati, an affiliate of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Joshi expressed how Sanskrit holds immense significance not only as India's cultural heritage but also as an essential component of global knowledge and technological advancement. He pointed out the language's unparalleled contributions to various scientific domains, including being affirmed by NASA as a critical language for computing advancements.

Joshi reiterated his support for making Sanskrit India's official language, a proposal historically backed by figures like B R Ambedkar. While reflecting on past efforts, he underscored the importance of youth engaging with Sanskrit literature to foster a richer cultural identity in India and globally.
