Transforming Telangana's Heritage: Hyderabad to Become a Global Tourist Hub

In an ambitious move to bolster tourism, Telangana Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao announced efforts to elevate Hyderabad’s heritage sites to world-class tourist destinations. He conducted a thorough inspection of key historic sites, including Charminar and Chowmahalla Palace, to draft special master plans that position Hyderabad prominently on the global tourism map.
Rao elaborated on the state's strategy, which adopts a Public-Private Partnership model to maximize infrastructure development and revenue. This approach aims not only to enhance tourist appeal but also to offer sustainable employment opportunities to local communities.
Highlighting conservation efforts, Rao mentioned that the Quli Qutb Shah Urban Development Authority has allocated Rs 3.64 crore for restoring the Machli Kaman. Renovation of the Sher-e-Batil Kaman and aesthetic improvements around Charminar have also been prioritized to boost visitor experience.
