This record-breaking sale has set the highest benchmark for modern Indian art, surpassing the previous record held by MF Husain's work. The prized painting, which was auctioned to Dr Cyrus S Poonawalla of the Serum Institute of India, showcases a compelling depiction of maternal love through intricate mythological symbolism.
