In an unprecedented move to blend sports with education in India, the 'Sports Alphabet Booklets' were unveiled in 21 languages, making it the first endeavor of its kind. The initiative was spearheaded by sports researcher Dr. Kanishka Pandey under the program 'Sports: A Way of Life'.
The booklets are designed to introduce sports concepts to children through alphabets, much like the traditional method of teaching letters. Dr. Pandey emphasized that as alphabet learning spurs educational interests, similarly, these sports alphabets can be a foundation for nurturing a love for sports.
The launch event at the India Habitat Centre was marked by the presence of prominent figures, including Olympic bronze medalist Ashok Kumar. The booklets encompass a wide array of languages such as Hindi, English, and Kannada, among others, promoting inclusivity in sports education.
