Kerala CM Responds to Director Ranjith's Arrest Amidst Allegations
Kerala's Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, addressed the arrest of noted Malayalam film director Ranjith, involved in a sexual assault case. Although aware of the situation, Vijayan noted that the government's actions have faced no complaints. Ranjith, currently in judicial custody, has denied the accusations, claiming they are false.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan addressed the arrest of renowned Malayalam film director Ranjith on Wednesday. The director is involved in an alleged sexual assault case. Vijayan mentioned he was not fully aware of the details but noted no complaints had arisen concerning the current handling by authorities.
Responding to reporters, Vijayan expressed that he, like the public, had only learned of the allegations through available information. Highlighting the prevailing Model Code of Conduct due to impending Assembly elections, he stressed his limited access to comprehensive government updates.
Ranjith, a prominent Left sympathizer previously serving as chair of the Kerala Chalachitra Academy, was detained following accusations of attempted sexual assault. The director, currently remanded for 14 days, refuted the allegations as false, mentioning his intent to prove his innocence.
