Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended greetings to the citizens of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Delhi on the occasion of Chaitra Navratri.
Highlighting the festival as an opportunity for devotion and spirituality, Modi underscored the significance of sacrifice and self-control. In his letter, he reflected on Navratri's dedication to the nine forms of Maa Shakti, which embodies the Upanishadic philosophy, 'Ekoham bahusyam,' conveying a perception of the divine in multiple forms.
Describing India as the 'Mother of Democracy,' the Prime Minister emphasized the natural ethos of 'Unity in Diversity.' He noted the new Vikram Samvat year 2083 and Yugabda year 5128, marking an ancient timekeeping tradition, and encouraged citizens to embrace disciplines that promote welfare and cultural vitality.
