Kerala marked the International Customs Day with a grand celebration that emphasized this year's theme, 'Customs protecting society through vigilance and commitment'. The event was organized by the Commissionerate of Customs in collaboration with the Custom House, Kochi.

Justice S Easwaran from the Kerala High Court highlighted the indispensable role of Indian Customs in facilitating trade and maintaining regulatory enforcement, while also safeguarding taxpayer rights. Notable attendees included actor Shwetha Menon, senior officials, and industry stakeholders.

Awards were presented to both importers and exporters who demonstrated excellence in trade. Recognition was also given to the best performing airport, seaport, steamer agents, and Customs brokers. Roy Varghese received a merit award for exceptional service, along with 33 officers recognized for their contributions to Customs administration. Additionally, eight cadets were awarded for their academic and leadership achievements.
