In a strategic move to bolster the economic empowerment of women artisans in rural Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced the launch of a new brand, 'Swayam'. This initiative aims to provide robust marketing support to products crafted by the Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas (DWCRA).

Addressing a review meeting, Naidu emphasized the importance of branding these products to elevate their market presence, both within India and on an international stage. It was during this meeting that 'Swayam', meaning 'self' or 'oneself' in English, was selected as the official brand name.

The Chief Minister has tasked officials with developing a logo that adequately reflects the spirit of 'Swayam'. He praised the quality of DWCRA women's products and underscored the necessity of expanding their market reach to promote sustainable economic growth for the artisans.
