In a bold initiative against drug abuse, Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria will lead a four-day padyatra starting February 9, traversing the border districts of Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, and Fazilka. The campaign is a push to enhance public participation in the state's anti-drug efforts.

Aimed at fostering community involvement, the governor underscored the importance of rehabilitation and job creation as essential strategies in combating drug abuse. Kataria appealed to various societal sectors to join the people's movement, supporting the efforts of the Punjab Red Cross Society to raise awareness about drug abuse's detrimental effects.

Asserting that drug abuse is a global issue requiring ongoing action, Kataria called upon social, religious, political, and educational entities, alongside NGOs, to back the padyatra. He stressed that a cooperative effort is key to achieving substantial change and reintegrating affected individuals into society with dignity.
