Piyush Pandey, a legendary figure in Indian advertising, has passed away in Mumbai at the age of 70. Known for his revolutionary approach to advertising, Pandey's work resonated deeply with the Indian public, making significant cultural impacts.
Joining Ogilvy India in 1982, Pandey's innovative campaigns such as 'Ab ki baar, Modi sarkar' and Cadbury's 'Kuch Khaas Hai' became iconic. His contributions redefined Indian advertising by infusing it with local flavor and humor, earning him numerous accolades, including a Padma Shri in 2016.
Condolences flowed from across the political and business spectrum, with prominent figures like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and billionaire Gautam Adani paying tribute to his legacy. Pandey's final rites are scheduled for Saturday at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.
