James Gunn, the acclaimed filmmaker, has recently shed light on a potential sequel to the 2005 film 'Constantine,' a project long awaited by its star, Keanu Reeves. The original movie, directed by Francis Lawrence, is a supernatural superhero narrative based loosely on the popular Hellblazer comic book series.

In a recent conversation on the BobaTalks podcast, Gunn disclosed that while he has had discussions with Reeves regarding the sequel, a concrete script has yet to materialize. Reeves has previously expressed his enthusiasm for the sequel, citing efforts spanning more than a decade to bring the story back to DC Studios.

However, Lawrence revealed that progress has been hindered by writer strikes and complexity over character rights. He mentioned that while they've managed to regain control over the character, crafting the sequel is an ongoing endeavor rooted in the team's long-standing passion for the series.
