A government school teacher in Cheog village faces an investigation for allegedly slapping a 2.5-year-old student, officials reported on Wednesday.

The Block Elementary Education Officer will conduct the inquiry following a complaint by the child's father, who claims the incident happened after his son soiled himself in school. The complaint also alleges that the teacher responded with threats when confronted by the father.

An official statement from the school's principal, Sandeep Sharma, confirms a detailed investigation is underway. The teacher reportedly defended her actions, saying the child had smeared faeces on another student.
