The Delhi government is preparing to revolutionize technology-driven education across its schools by upgrading 376 existing ICT labs and establishing 31 new digital labs as part of the 'Samagra Shiksha' initiative for the 2025-26 period.
According to a circular, the Ministry of Education's Project Approval Board for 2025-26 has approved these upgrades as part of quality interventions within the ICT and digital initiatives framework. Notably, 24 new ICT labs will open in schools where enrollment surpasses 700 students. Additionally, seven schools will receive digital hardware and software facilities under this initiative, expanding digital interventions to 31 new settings in total.
This educational enhancement aims to develop students' digital literacy and critical thinking, while also aiding teachers' efficiency and introducing inclusive, modern classrooms. The Delhi Budget for 2025-26 further supports this with Rs 50 crore dedicated to 175 new computer labs, aligning with CBSE digital education norms.
