Examinations in Gulf Cancelled Amid Conflict in West Asia
Kerala Minister V Sivankutty announced the cancellation of SSLC and Class 12 exams in the Gulf due to the West Asia conflict. Affected students' results will use model exam marks and grace marks. Exams for SSLC and Class 12 set in the Gulf have been scrapped due to ongoing tensions in West Asia, as revealed by Kerala's Minister V Sivankutty. The decision impacts 633 SSLC students and 592 Class 12 students who now won't sit for their exams as originally planned.
For SSLC students, results will be based on term exams and a percentage of grace marks. Class 12 students will have first-year marks, Continuous Evaluation (CE), and second-year practical marks carried forward. Students stuck in the Gulf also qualify for this adjustment, provided their documents are verified.
Additionally, Sivankutty announced enhancements in the school-level grievance system to ensure fair assessments, alongside a study support initiative for underperforming students in lower classes, scheduled for 2026. Improved transparency and student support are key focuses moving forward.
