Massive Fake NCERT Book Racket Busted in Uttarakhand

Nearly 10 lakh counterfeit NCERT books, valued over Rs 9 crore, were recovered in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand. The operation, a result of a tip-off, led to the discovery of a massive printing and distribution racket aiming to deceive the public. Legal actions have been initiated against those involved.

In a major crackdown, Uttarakhand police have recovered close to 10 lakh counterfeit NCERT books in Rudrapur, worth over Rs 9 crore. Acting on a tip-off, officials intercepted a vehicle loaded with suspicious books headed to Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.

An in-depth investigation revealed a warehouse in Kiratpur Koleda where thousands of fake NCERT books were stored. The education department confirmed the books were counterfeit, carrying fake inscriptions instead of authentic NCERT watermarks.

Legal actions have been initiated against those behind the operation, and a comprehensive investigation is underway. For their successful operation, the police team was awarded a Rs 20,000 cash reward by DGP Deepam Seth.
