A woman YouTuber has accused attendees of a Delhi University protest of assaulting and attempting to abduct her. The protest, organized by the All India Students’ Association (AISA) against UGC regulations, turned contentious when the YouTuber claimed she was attacked after being asked for her name.
In response, AISA refuted her claims as ''false and motivated,'' alleging instead that their members were targeted. Videos circulating on social media have further complicated the issue, with each party holding the other responsible. The Delhi Police confirmed that two FIRs have been filed based on complaints from the YouTuber and a female AISA student.
Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh emphasized the importance of social harmony, urging students and staff to avoid actions that could harm the institution's reputation. The incident highlights ongoing tensions regarding the implementation of new UGC regulations, which are presently under review by the Supreme Court.
