Trump's Billion-Dollar Battle: Harvard Faces Accusation
President Trump has announced a $1 billion damages claim against Harvard University, disputing reports that the White House had settled for a lesser amount in their ongoing conflict. The administration accuses Harvard of antisemitism and has previously canceled research funding, urging ideological changes at universities.
Donald Trump, the former U.S. president, has reignited tensions with Harvard University by declaring a $1 billion damages claim against the renowned institution. This comes after a New York Times report suggested the White House had agreed to a $200 million settlement, which Trump refuted.
Trump, taking to Truth Social, lambasted Harvard for purported antisemitism and misleading information. The accusations form part of a broader campaign by his administration to push universities toward addressing alleged antisemitism and so-called radical ideologies.
The conflict also sees the cancellation of numerous Harvard research grants by the administration. While some Ivy League institutions like Columbia and Brown have reached agreements, Harvard remains at an impasse, prompting legal action against the government.
