Vedanta group firm Hindustan Zinc Ltd (HZL) has announced a record-breaking profit of Rs 5,033 crore for the March quarter of FY26. This represents a significant 68% jump from Rs 3,003 crore in the same period last year, largely attributed to higher zinc and silver prices and an uptick in production.

The firm reported an all-time high quarterly EBITDA of Rs 7,747 crore, marking a 61% year-on-year increase. Annual net profits swelled to Rs 13,832 crore, up 34%, thanks to disciplined capital management and robust cash flows. Notably, HZL reached a milestone with 1.1 million tonnes of mined metal production.

As the company moves into its growth phase dubbed HZL 2.0, CEO Arun Misra emphasized strengthening the strategic roadmap and aligning with future-critical sectors. CFO Sandeep Modi noted the firm’s strong financial position, with cash reserves of Rs 13,846 crore and a first interim dividend of Rs 11 per share approved for 2026-27.
