Tata Communications reported a sharp 74.6% drop in consolidated net profit for the January-March quarter, attributed mainly to a high base effect stemming from last year's one-time financial gains.
The previous fiscal year's Q4 profit was buoyed by a one-off gain resulting from strategic asset sales, including a land parcel in Chennai and stakes in Tata Communications Payments Solutions.
Despite the profit decline, the company's operations revenue grew by 9.4%, driven by its digital infrastructure capabilities. The CEO highlighted successes in network transformation and cloud integration, aiming for future growth in the AI-centric digital landscape.
